Our Spotlight Member of the Month is Cheryl Van Valey!

 

 

I have been a member of the Y probably since the late 80s early 90s so I have done many different classes and have met many different instructors. Back in the day some of those classes have been water walking, step aerobics, boot camp, Zumba turbo kick, pound, body attack, body pump, spinning, RPM, Core, weight lifting besides walking on the treadmill and using the machines.

As of today I am currently doing Barre (twice a week), yoga, and stretch and strength. As things happen in your life (heart attack, osteoarthritis in the knees and just aging) things change and you can't do all that you use to but you just keep your body going (through the aches and pains) and keep your heart pumping, which is very important to me.

The Y is a great place to exercise and in doing that you meet new people and over time friendships develop.
